PREFACE TO THE THIRTYSIXTH EDITION

The changes in the syllabi and pattern of engineering courses in the various Technical universities have led to many alterations and new features in this edition. A number of sections have therefore, been rewritten and various additions, deletions and refinemente have been madens have also been adde Differentiation & its Apllications' and 'Integration & its Applications' added..

A recent trend in various engineering examinations has been to set objective type of short questions at all levels to test the general understanding of various topics. As such, an exhaustive list of 'Objective type of questions' has been given in an appendix topic-wise and their answers are provided alongwith 'Answers to Problems. The number of illustrative solved examples has also been increased in each chapter. It is hoped that the book in its new format, will enjoy its ever increasing popularity.
