Simulation With ARENA
This third edition of Simulation with Arena has the some gool o the first two editions: to provide a comprehensive treatment of simulation concepts in general and the Arena simulation software in particular sterns by having the render develop simple, well animated, high vel mode and then progresses to advanced modeling and analysis. Statistical analysis is separate topic, but is integrated into many of the modeling chapters, reflecting not treated mo The joint nature of these activihes in good simulation studies. The objective of the book is to help the reader corry out effective simulation modeling, analysis, and projects using the Arena simulation system, It has an informal, tutorial writing style to aid the beginner in fully understanding the ideas and topics presented
Starting with an introduction. to simulation concepts, the book progresses tivough an overview of the Avena software, basic model development, input analysis, additional modeling construch, output analysis, and advanced modeling. It also includes chapters on integrating simulation with other applications, specialized statistical isspes, continuous simulation, and conducting a successful simulation study. It is intended primarily e a text in a fiat course on simulation or to be for selfstudy, However, many of the later chopters could be incorporated ints an advanced course. Included with the book is a CD containing the Arena academic software and the examples referenced throughout the text
Building on the success of the first two editions, published in 1998 and 2002, this edidiori retains the basic outline and tutorial style, built around a sequence of successively more complicated examples. All the examples and discussion, however, have been updated to be consistent with the current version of the Arena software, As before a website for instructors provides complete support in terms of downloadable lecture slides and solution to end of chapter exercises
The book draws heavily on the experience and expertise of the authors, a professor of the University of Cincinnati specializing in simulation, and two seasoned members of Rockwell Solrware (formerly Systems Modeling), the developers of Arena, who are active in product design and development, training consulting, and applications.
